I have submited a second appeal to the website. The first wasn't done by me and I was told it would be a stronger case coming from the author. So I'm waiting to hear.
If you're interested here is a list of similarities between the 2 chapters compiled by Jocjarmom and myself. None of these items alone mean anything, of course, but together they are strong evidence that TDT was the source material for the piece.
1) Draco is in his office. (2) His assistant tells him that Mr. Potter wants to see him. (3) Draco tells assistant to send him away. (4) Draco counts down anticipating Harry's arrival... (5) Harry bursts through the door anyway using wandless magic. (6) Draco tells Harry to get his feet off his desk. (7) “they had become expert at pushing the others buttons” TDT ‘knew exactly how to push each others buttons’ NGB (8) Harry asks Draco to go get a drink. (9) Draco says "no, too busy running a business/corporation" (10) They go to the Leaky Cauldron for drinks, and they sit in a back table. (11) At Draco's office in TDT, Harry asks "How did we both lose her?" At the Leaky Cauldron in NGB, Harry asks, "How did we both lose her?" (12) At Leaky Cauldron, Malfoy asks, "How is she?" (both stories) (13) Ron shows up and finds Harry & Malfoy drunk. (14) Ron comes to find them because he's in a store at Diagon Alley and overhears young girls talking about Harry & Draco "getting pissed" at the Leaky Cauldron. (15) Ron says overhearing these conversations "Enough to make a bloke hurl his lunch!” (TDT) or "Almost enough to make a bloke lose his lunch" (NGB). (16) TDT - Ron wants to protect Ginny's interest. NGB - Ron wants to make sure they aren't conspiring against Ginny. (17) Ron leaves the 2 of them because "I’m going home to kiss my wife and babies" (TDT) or "I’ve got a wife and kids to take care of, remember?" (NGB) (18) Harry talks to Draco about his and Ginny's sex life, and Draco expresses his discomfort with the subject. (19) Harry isn’t sure about how much truth he wants to tell. (20) They both admit that they thought the other was the only one who could take Ginny away.
These are a lot of coincidences, especially for a short chapter.
We'll have to wait and see what the verdict is.
Stay tuned. |
